John McCarty 1869-1944

On February 6, 1869 John McCarty was born, his father, Dennis, was 44 and his mother, Hanora, was 34. They both were born in Ireland.John had two brothers (Daniel 1867-1897 & Jeremiah 1872-1929) and five sisters (Hannah 1860, Mary 1861,Elizabeth 1864-1930,my 2nd great grandmother Bridget 1864-1938 and Nellie 1877-1941). John mostly worked as a day laborer. He later developed senility and died after three years in the Northampton County Home(now Gracedale), in Upper Nazareth, Pennsylvania. John died on January 18, 1944 at the age of 74, and was buried in Holy Saviour Cemetery Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Patrick Purcell 1872-1902

I am trying to find out about Patrick Purcell(1872-1902). His parents were Christopher Purcell(1845-?) and Mary Courtney(1851-1931). Chris & Mary owned Purcell's Hotel 520 e 2nd street Bethlehem, PA. Anyone know about this part of the family?

Caleb Haines 1695-1757

Caleb Haines was born on February 8, 1695, in Evesham, New Jersey, his father, John, was 30 and his mother, Esther Borton, was 27. He married Sarah Burr whose parents Henry and Elizabeth traveled to the Colonies with William Penn on his last voyage from England. On November 26, 1719, in Burlington, New Jersey. Caleb was a farmer and stayed within the Burlington surroundings. They had five children in 14 years. Josiah, Esther, Mary, Elizabeth and Patience He died on January 3, 1757, at the age of 61.He is buried at the Friends Cemetery in Evesham Township, Burlington, New Jersey

Stanley Sek 1922-1977

Stanley Sek was born on February 12, 1922, his father, Wladislaw, was 27 and his mother, Anna, was 25. He had one brother, John and two sisters, Josephina and Gladys .When he was twenty he enlisted in served almost four years in the Army seeing overseas duty during WWII. After discharge he married Elizabeth Hottenstein Fraley who was two years his senior. Elizabeth had one previous marriage to Daniel Fraley. They later moved to Florida. He died on May 10, 1977, in Broward, Florida, at the age of 55.

December 18th 1962 President Kennedy's personal secretary Evelyn Lincoln mailed this to my Great Grandfather Patrick Courtney and his family, A thank you card on behalf of Jackie Kennedy and another thank you letter from Juanita Roberts personal secretary to President Johnson. Also a letter from to my Aunt Marion from the White house.

Theren Conner Price 1878-1965

Theren Conner Price was born on February 13, 1878, in Whitten, Iowa, his father, Lot, was 48 and his mother, Pauline, was 39. Pauline was the second wife of Lot Price and she had two other children Clarence and Mabel with Lot before her passing in 1880. Theren married Gertrude Frederika Dahl around 1902. Around that time he and Gertie moved to Eagan, Minnesota where he worked as a farmer. Between 1905 and 1915 they had two sons (David and Gordon) and three daughters (Florence, Margaret & Grace).

They spend a brief time in Hazen, North Dakota where Gordon is shown being born there. By 1920 they had moved north to Henriette, Minnesota. In 1935 they had moved to Lake of the Woods Minnesota where Theren in his late 50's became a Truck Driver for the WPA. He died on January 9, 1965, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, at the age of 86, and was buried in his hometown.


Abigail Lippincott 1677-1751

Abigail Lippincott was born in Shrewsbury, Bulington County, New Jersey on February 16, 1677. Her father, Restore, was 23, and her mother, Hannah Shattuck, was 22. She married James Shinn on May 9, 1697. They were farmer with They had two sons Joseph 1703 and Clement 1718 during their marriage. She died on June 1, 1751, in Monmouth, New Jersey, at the age of 74.

Anthony Volpone 1910-1972

Anthony & Cameron Volpone was born on the 18th of August, 1910 in Ashtabula, Ohio. His parents Donato and Maria Nicola DeMarco Volpone were both born in Collecovino, Abruzzo, Italy. Anthony's twin brother only lived three years and passed in 1913.
Anthony was one of eleven children as shown between the 1920 & 1930 Census. On August 15th 1931, Anthony married Eleanor Anderson in Ripley, Chautaqua County, New York, a small town along Lake Erie. Anthony & Eleanor had two daughters Donna Jean(1934) and Margaret(1937).
Anthony worked for the WPA as a clerk that is shown in the 1940 census. Through the mid 40's and 50's Anthony worked as a Bolter for the Great Lakes Engine Works. the GLEW built ships and closed its doors in 1961. After the factory closed he and Eleanor moved to Cleveland. Anthony died in 1972 on June 20th. In 2002, his widow Eleanor passed away.

Anna Reagan 1904-1947

Anna Reagan was born on October 24, 1904, in Pennsylvania, her father, John, was 30, and her mother, Margarette, was 29. She had six brothers and three sisters. She worked at the Halcyon Hosiery Factory in the early 20's then later switching to work at Bethlehem Steel prior to the Great Depression. Sometime in the mid 30's she had stop working and is listed as domestic. She died on November 8, 1947, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, at the age of 43, due to heart disease. Anna was buried in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Mary Courtney 1907-1994

Mary Margaret Courtney

Mary Courtney was born on October 26, 1907, her father, John, was 27, and her mother, Bridget McNerny, was 27. She had two sisters. She died on February 14, 1994, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, at the age of 86, and was buried there. I don't know much more than that. The 1940 Census has Mary at home with her dad John and her Aunt Sarah and Uncle John McNerny living in the houses adjacent to her on East 4th st. 921,923 & 925 shown in the google map photo.

Notes from my cousin Mark D Trumbore :"I remember her well. She used to come to our house with her sister Catherine (my grandmother). For much of her later years she lived in an elderly highrise at Main St and Union Blvd in Bethlehem. She is buried with her parents and sister/brother-in-law at Holy Saviour cemetery in Bethlehem"

Martha Harrison 1834-1904


Martha Harrison was born on October 29, 1834, in Yeadon, Yorkshire, England, her father, Jotham, was 30, and her mother, Ann, was 25. She married Robert Metcalfe on April 10, 1859, in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. They had four children during their marriage. She died in January 1904 in Yorkshire, England, at the age of 69. Lisa Mann and Ken Lister may be able to add or amend this information about Martha.
