John Sharp was born in the village of Flore in Northamptonshire, England on October 29, 1661, his father, William, was 23 and his mother, Ms. Hannah, was 36. He married Elizabeth Sarah Paine and they had seven children together. He was a farmer. He then married Jane Curtis on August 7, 1719. He died on May 17, 1725, in Evesham, New Jersey, at the age of 63, and was buried in Mount Laurel, New Jersey at the Friends Cemetery.
