Maria Giacobbe was born on February 3, 1868, in Gesso, Messina, Italy. Her father was Antonino, and her mother Giovanna Tomaselli. She arrived in the United States in 1897 her husband Orazio immigrated from Sicily two years prior in 1895. She had four sons Guisepipe, Salvatore, Isam & Peter. She also had three daughters Sadie, Paula, Antoinette and (Anna).
It appears they lived in South Jersey up until the 1910's. In 1920 they had moved to Philadelphia where Orazio ran a fruit store Maria was struck and killed by a car on November 15, 1925, at 9th and Passyunk in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the age of 57, and was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Pennsylvania.
