Restore Shinn 1815--1887

Restore Shinn was born on January 19, 1815, in Harrison, Virginia, his father, Clement, was 28 and his mother, Lucretia, was 29. He married Eliza Allen on October 13, 1836, in Harrison, West Virginia. In 1849 they had moved to Jackson County Indiana.

Along their journey from Virginia they had their youngest child Riley who was born in Ohio. Restore and Eliza had a total of six children in 11 years. After the children were grown, the Shinn's moved to California were they had a farm.

He died on May 24, 1887, in Petrolia, California, at the age of 72. Eliza passed away seven year later in 1894.
