January 14th, 1651 my 10th great grandfather George Birdsall(b1590) was buried at the All Saints Church in Kirby Overblow in North Yorkshire, England. I was trying to find where the Birdsall line of my family originated and it appears to be from York. From looking at the variety of marriages, burials and baptisms the Birdsall's seem to stay put in the region until my 2nd great grandparents Mary Hannah Birdsall (1858) and Jotham Harrison Turner(1857) make their migration to Philadelphia in 1880 with my Great grandmother Ada(1878) and her sister Rhoda(1879). From there out my family would stay in the Philadelphia area to this day with the exception of Ada when after her divorce from Frederick Kurtz in the 1910's would move to California to work in the budding movie industry as a vocal coach.
