John O'Connell 1806-1882

John O'Connell was born in Macroom, County Cork, Ireland in 1806. In the 1820's he would marry Mary Ring. This is the first time I have seen her name and have overlooked her for years. She is my 3rd Great grandmother whom I just met(in a genealogy kinda way).
John and Mary would have five daughters, Honora 1832, Joanna 1834, Catherine 1840, Ellen 1842(my 2nd GGM), and Mary 1845. Mary would die sometime before 1857 which I haven't yet found. I do know from Johanna's 1900 census that at least Father and daughters arrived in the US in 1853.
John would remarry Bridget Clancy in the 1850's and they would have six sons John, Thomas, Daniel, Joseph, James and Francis William.
In John's will from 1883, He leaves everything to Bridget under the care of his son Thomas. Everything is to be divided upon Bridget's death. He also reference's his granddaughter Mary Twohig. THis made not only my head hurt but it made sense of the DNA matches I have been finding.
All the DNA for descendants from John & Bridget were showing much lower than I had thought it would be but I know now that most connections are from my my 2nd GGM Ellen are half siblings.
I am now on the hunt to find out what happen to my 3rd great grandmom Mary Ring and see if she is buried at St. Mary's in West Grove, PA with the rest of the family.
